Scholars and legal experts sign letter rejecting Gaza genocide accusations

Over 6,000 prominent academics and lawyers signed an open letter on or before 25 September 2026 rejecting characterizations of Israel's actions in Gaza as genocide. The letter argued that Israel, as the historical homeland of Jewish people, has itself faced existential threats since its 1948 founding.
