Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, (some 2+ inches), damaging winds, and a couple of tornadoes should occur late this afternoon into tonight across parts of the Upper Midwest. Thunderstorm development is more uncertain farther south into the central Plains, where a conditional risk for large hail and severe gusts will exist late this afternoon into the evening.
