AI giants warn governments time to defend against cyberattacks narrowing

On August 27–28, 2026, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and 100 other organizations published an open letter warning that AI-enabled cyberattack waves are imminent. They urged organizations and governments to strengthen defenses immediately, expressing concern about the capacity to control advanced AI models.
