Florida rescues 163 children in major statewide trafficking operation

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced on August 26, 2026 that Operation Statewide Shield, a five-day enforcement sweep, recovered 163 missing children ranging from 2 months to 17 years old, with 32 located in Jacksonville, calling it one of the largest child recovery operations in American history.
