I have a used Lenovo with Windows because I still need Win on x86 for a couple of obscure apps. How can any normal consumer use this shit? This is the third time in two years that Windows Update can't

I have a used Lenovo with Windows because I still need Win on x86 for a couple of obscure apps. How can any normal consumer use this shit? This is the third time in two years that Windows Update can't finish and I need to run a set of arcane incantations that (I think) power-clean the whole Win Update machinery.
