Between September 15-16, 2026, four individuals pleaded guilty to federal child sexual abuse charges: Ray Anthony Waller (Fresno teacher) to sexual exploitation; Dwight Chris John (Alaska church elder, age 74) to possession; and Scott Keith Baldwin Jr. (California-Virginia resident) to conspiracy to distribute CSAM.
Between September 8 and September 11, 2026, three separate perpetrators were sentenced in federal court: Alexander Charles Whitaker of Jacksonville received 10 years for possessing over 100 CSAM images and videos; Joshua J. Klenke of St. Charles, Missouri, received 14 years for uploading CSAM to Snapchat and assaulting a 4-year-old; and James David Johnson of California received 151 months for distributing sadistic CSAM over the dark web.
On August 25, 2026, 57-year-old Brian J. Ruiz of Lake City, Florida was arrested following a months-long cybertip investigation. Detectives uncovered more than 10 images and videos of child sexual abuse material on his devices.
Between August 16 and August 21, 2026, federal authorities sentenced or charged multiple defendants across the United States for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) crimes: Mitchell Best, 43, of Cabot received 60 years; additional convictions included cases in Lowell, Lake Worth, and Farmington. On August 21, federal agents boarded two cruise ships in Boston and arrested 11 people for receiving, distributing, and exploiting CSAM.
